From the age of five, Chad played every team and individual sport possible (soccer, baseball, football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, track & field, racquetball, karate). As captain of the Berkner Rams wrestling team in 1999-2000, he began to understand human movement in its purest forms and to help others achieve their sports and fitness goals. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Crime and Justice Studies, cum laude, from The University of Texas at Dallas, he found CrossFit and then parkour in attempts to escape the “9-5 routine”. He enthusiastically embraced the overlapping concepts of efficiency, complete/balanced athleticism, and hard work producing real results, and soon began his quest for more formalized education in movement. After assembling an all-star team of coaches from the surrounding Metroplex, Chad opened The Asylum in June 2014, thus establishing the first parkour gym in North Texas.
